Pumpkin Carving Workshops
Before the big Halloween weekend began, families gathered at Cyherbia Botanical Park dressed in their favourite costumes, ready for one of the most loved autumn activities in Cyprus — pumpkin carving!
Our pumpkin carving workshops included pumpkins of all sizes, carving tools, and guidance for both children and adults. Visitors created spooky, funny, and imaginative jack-o’-lanterns while enjoying the festive atmosphere of the park.
The first step was scooping out the pumpkin “brains,” with buckets provided for the pumpkin filling. Families were encouraged to take the leftovers home to make seasonal recipes such as pumpkin soup, roasted pumpkin seeds, and muffins, making the experience both creative and sustainable.
After carving their pumpkins, visitors explored the park through a variety of Halloween-themed activities, including:
- A scavenger hunt in the big maze
- Herbal garden quests
- CSI mystery-solving games in the woodland
- Complimentary herbal Witch Brew tea
- Seasonal cakes, muffins, and warm meals at the tea room
Halloween Festival 2018 in Cyprus
The Halloween Festival at Cyherbia is one of the most unique family Halloween events in Cyprus. Every year, the botanical park transforms into a magical and spooky world filled with decorations, themed adventures, and immersive experiences.
In 2018, the special Halloween theme was Greek Mythology.
Visitors entered a world inspired by Ancient Greece, where they could:
- Enter the maze and receive the Mark of the Minotaur
- Help Odysseus defeat the Cyclops in the woodland
- Escape the depths of Hades alive
Children from different nationalities also joined interactive storytelling sessions in both English and Greek, bringing myths and legends to life in a fun and educational way.
Best Halloween Costume Competition
No Halloween celebration at Cyherbia would be complete without the famous costume competition. Both adults and children arrived in creative, spooky, and hilarious costumes for the chance to win surprise gifts and prizes.
