Highlights from Lavender Festival 2018
The Lavender Festival at Cyherbia Botanical Park once again filled the gardens with colour, fragrance, creativity, and unforgettable experiences.
Every year, the festival brings something new, and 2018 was especially meaningful thanks to our collaboration with the Freedom Dolls Initiative (FDI).
Collaboration with Freedom Dolls Initiative (FDI)
One of the highlights of Lavender Festival 2018 was raising awareness about human trafficking in Cyprus through our partnership with FDI.
Fabrics were donated to the organisation, and survivors of human trafficking created handmade dolls using those materials. Visitors had the opportunity to learn more about the cause, support the initiative, and purchase handmade dolls. All donations and doll sales went directly towards supporting survivors.
Workshops & Activities During Lavender Season 2018
Visitors enjoyed a wide range of lavender-inspired experiences and workshops throughout the season, including:
- Meditation walks through the lavender meditation garden
- Essential oil distillation demonstrations and presentations on the benefits of lavender
- Cooking with lavender demonstrations
- Lavender meditation workshops
- Creative workshops such as:
- Lavender wand making
- Lavender wreath making
- Lavender window hangers
- Candle holders
- Mini decorative trees
- Dreamcatchers
- Outdoor lavender decorations with pots and plants
Lavender Photoshoots
The blooming lavender fields also became a beautiful backdrop for seasonal photoshoots with our resident photographer, Melina Tringis.
