🎃 Halloween at Cyherbia in 2020

2020 was a year unlike any other. Cyprus, like the rest of the world, faced one of the most mind-boggling challenges in modern history: a global virus outbreak that placed the country into lockdown. Yet, even amidst uncertainty, the magic of Halloween at Cyherbia Botanical Park continued. With all necessary health and safety measures in place, families still found joy, creativity, and spooky fun during Spooktober 2020.

Safe, Spooky Fun for the Whole Family

At Cyherbia, Halloween has always been about bringing people together through nature, fantasy, and play. In 2020, we adapted our activities to ensure safety while keeping the spirit of Halloween alive. Visitors enjoyed a variety of festive experiences throughout the park:

  • Pumpkin Carving – Families created their very own spooky jack-o’-lanterns to take home.
  • CSI: Solve the Mystery Murders – Budding detectives explored the woodland to uncover eerie clues and crack the case.
  • The Giant Spider’s Web – Adventurers tested their agility while navigating the tricky spider’s web in the woodland.
  • Help Snow White Collect the Lost Apples – A magical scavenger hunt in the herb gardens where children became heroes of the fairy tale.
  • Walk Through the Graveyard – A spooky yet lighthearted trail, perfect for a ghostly rest stop.
  • Face Painting – Kids transformed into witches, vampires, and other Halloween creatures.
  • Photo Opportunities at the Witch Cottage and Pumpkin Patch – Families captured magical memories against a festive autumn backdrop.

A Halloween to Remember

Despite the challenges of the year, Halloween 2020 at Cyherbia proved that creativity and community spirit can shine through even the toughest of times. Families came together (safely) to laugh, play, and celebrate in nature—reminding us that Halloween is not just about costumes and pumpkins, but about creating lasting memories.
